What is a counterbalance forklift truck?

Answer: A counterbalance weight design with a weight at the rear of the truck, off-setting the load to be lifted at the front.Ideal for use where stock is transported on pallets as the forks extend from the front of the counterbalance trucks, meaning the truck can be driven up to the exact location of the load. This makes their operation straightforward and less challenging.

Where can I get spare parts for my Forklift Truck?

Answer: Any spare put ordered before 4.00pm each day once ID , AND QUOTED can be dispatched to anywhere in the UK Mainland for delivery the following day.

Can I use an electric forklift in wet conditions?

Answer: No, most electric forklifts are not designed for use in wet weather.

What type of power supply do I need to charge an electric forklift?

Answer: The charger required will depend on the size of the battery and this will determine the power supply that is needed. Chargers operate from mains power and the size will be dependent on whether it is single or three phase.

How is a pedestrian forklift powered?

Answer: Pedestrian forklifts are battery powered and come equipped with charger plugs in to mains power supply.

How much can I lift with a pedestrian forklift?

Answer: Pedestrian forklifts come in lift capacities up to 2 tonnes.

Do trucks have to be inspected daily?

Answer: Yes. A qualified forklift operator must inspect forklifts at the start of every shift.We can provide daily check sheets for your equipment.

Do operators need training?

Answer: Yes. It is a legal requirement that all operators have recognised training for the equipment being used, NA Services can provide training.


Question:

How often do I need to have my electric or Gas forklift serviced.

Answer: It depends on how often you are using it and under what circumstances (for example, a forklift that is used 24 hours per day, 7 days per week will needs Service more often than one used only 2 days per week). In general, however, we recommend a lube service at least every 500 hours or every four months - whichever comes first.

IS FORK LIFT TRUCK MAINTENANCE IS A LEGAL REQUIREMENT?

Answer: A lack of maintenance can lead to serious accidents.Regulation 5(PUWER 98) states: “Every employer shall ensure that work equipment is maintained in an efficient state, in efficient working order and in good repair.” This is primarily to ensure that the equipment is safe.

What are reach trucks?

Answer: Reach trucks are one of the most popular warehouse forklifts.The mast extends away from the forklift body, usually using a scissor mechanism, and has the capacity to reach out beyond the stabilising legs, meaning they can reach easily into the racking and lift up to great heights within the warehouse environment.

What are the varying types of forklift truck mast available? (Simplex/duplex/triplex/quad)?

Answer: Simplex mast – A simplex mast is a single stage mast with a single channel. The mast and carriage rise simultaneously Duplex mast – A duplex mast has two channels, is a two stage mast consisting of a simplex mast and a free lift cylinder. The free lift cylinder is the first stage, raising the carriage 940 to 1570mm before the inner mast channel extends. Triplex mast – A triplex mast has three stages, with two inner mast channels and a free lift cylinder. The advantage of this mast is reduced overall lowered heights with increased maximum fork heights. They are one of the most popular mast types Quad mast - A quad mast has four stages with three inner mast channels and a free lift cylinder. Quad masts are built for the same reasons as triplex masts.
